But what is actual\u00adly so spe\u00adcial about it? Is it the myth sur\u00adroun\u00adding the sub\u00adli\u00admi\u00adnal art of fight\u00ading, the poten\u00adti\u00adal dan\u00adger, the atti\u00adtu\u00adde of a per\u00adson who kept on pushing until rea\u00adching the ulti\u00adma\u00adte goal up to this level, the expec\u00adted sports\u00adman\u00adship, the belief of a hig\u00adher abili\u00adty to focus, relia\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty, com\u00admit\u00adment or stami\u00adna?<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:sans-serif;font-size:13.696px;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;\">Yes \u2014 most likely all of the men\u00adtio\u00adned and much more in addi\u00adti\u00adon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:sans-serif;font-size:13.696px;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;min-height:14px;\">\n<\/p><p style=\"color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:sans-serif;font-size:13.696px;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;\">This artic\u00adle though is sup\u00adpo\u00adsed to ans\u00adwer this ques\u00adti\u00adon from an insi\u00adde point of view from within the Kara\u00adte com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty wit\u00adhout loo\u00adsing the per\u00adspec\u00adti\u00adve of modern tra\u00addi\u00adti\u00adon. You are allo\u00adwed to test and pro\u00admo\u00adte when you rea\u00adched a spe\u00adci\u00adfic tech\u00adni\u00adcal qua\u00adli\u00adty. But is it enough for get\u00adting a first degree black belt? My opi\u00adni\u00adon: No! Becau\u00adse as it is well-known hol\u00adding a black belt means being a role model. And this fea\u00adture was never meant sole\u00adly rela\u00adted to tech\u00adni\u00adque. For me being a role model today means being a pro\u00adper mem\u00adber of our com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty, socie\u00adty and Dojo. They should also be a role model to peo\u00adp\u00adle sur\u00adroun\u00adding them \u2014 at least in the dojo but pre\u00adfer\u00ada\u00adb\u00adly out\u00adside as well. The hig\u00adher the black belt degree the more the will to streng\u00adthen the com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty and the deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment of the art its\u00adelf should be empha\u00adsi\u00adzed rather than the own ego.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:sans-serif;font-size:13.696px;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;\">\n<\/p><p style=\"color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:sans-serif;font-size:13.696px;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;\">Someone once said: \u201eKara\u00adte-Do is a small town busi\u00adness!\u201c&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:sans-serif;font-size:13.696px;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;\">In small towns and litt\u00adle vil\u00adla\u00adges, whe\u00adre often rather young peo\u00adp\u00adle, or even elder\u00adly, but most\u00adly lower black belt degrees teach, are the values and tech\u00adni\u00adques of kara\u00adte-do wide\u00adly per\u00adfect\u00adly shown to the peo\u00adp\u00adle. \u2014 And that\u00b4s gre\u00adat!<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:sans-serif;font-size:13.696px;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;min-height:14px;\">\n<\/p><p style=\"color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:sans-serif;font-size:13.696px;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;\">So what\u00b4s the con\u00adclu\u00adsi\u00adon?<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:sans-serif;font-size:13.696px;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;\">A black belt should be a role model when it comes to tech\u00adni\u00adques as much as when it comes to being a good per\u00adson. The hig\u00adher the degree the hig\u00adher the mode\u00ads\u00adty and ser\u00advice to the com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty should be.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:sans-serif;font-size:13.696px;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;\">True mas\u00adters do not pre\u00adsent them\u00adsel\u00adves as the most important per\u00adson and neither do they cla\u00adim spe\u00adcial rights for them\u00adsel\u00adves. They are rather the ones most likely to wel\u00adco\u00adme new peo\u00adp\u00adle to their com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty, smi\u00adle often and lend an ear to ever\u00adyo\u00adne. A black belt hol\u00adder is an honest, poli\u00adte and mode\u00adst Kara\u00adte expert who dili\u00adgent\u00adly prac\u00adti\u00adces Kara\u00adte and tre\u00adats his or her sur\u00adroun\u00adding respectful\u00adly in ser\u00advice of the com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty.
